Connectors are technologies designed to make data accessible from different systems. These systems can include traditional databases or applications as well as middleware technologies. Connectors abstract the specific characteristics of the source system and provide data and functionality through standardized interfaces (such as SQL, web services, XML, JMS messaging middleware) in a unified manner.
